A village mosque minaret is a different equation from a large city project. The budget is limited, the scope for maintenance is small, and the work usually proceeds on donations collected by the village association. Under those conditions the right decision favours durability over display.
We followed that approach on the Damlataş Village Mosque minaret: a plain shaft, a surface finish that needs no maintenance, and gold detail concentrated only at the şerefe.
What we watch for on a village mosque minaret
Over the years we have built many minarets in Black Sea villages. Three headings stand out:
- Surface finish — because of the region’s high humidity and rainfall, we prefer a self-cleaning coating over paint.
- Lightning protection — on a minaret rising in open country, a lightning protection system is an item that must not be left out.
- Access — crane access is often impossible on narrow village roads, which makes in-situ casting on a timber scaffold the most practical method.

How is the cost of a village mosque minaret calculated?
Once the height, shaft diameter, base height and cap material are settled, we price the work item by item. On village association projects we stage the payments to match the flow of donations and issue a photographic progress report at the end of each stage.
Does the old minaret have to be demolished and rebuilt?
Not always. Where the damage to the shaft is limited, the minaret can be strengthened with epoxy injection and carbon fibre wrapping, and the şerefe ring and cap renewed separately. Demolition is only the right decision where there is serious loss of structural section. After a site inspection we compare both options with costs.
How soon can you start around Samsun and Çarşamba?
Because our base is in Atakum, for work within Samsun we usually carry out the survey within a few days. Once the contract and the foundation preparation are complete, the start date for the minaret is planned around our current site workload.
